WVFD Annual Halloween Open House

The Woodbury Volunteer Fire Dept will host its annual, non-scary Hallowe’en Open House from 5pm to 8pm on Friday October 31st. Firefighters offer candy and handouts plus tours of the firetrucks at the 25 Quassuk Road headquarters to kids. Some children dress as princesses, ballet dancers, or fairies. Others as pirates, skeletons, ghosts, and ghouls to scare the firefighters.

“We do this as a community service,” says Fire Chief Janet B. Morgan. ‘We’re all neighbors and friends. We love to see the kids dressing up and we do our best to be scared when it’s appropriate. It’s always a lot of fun.”  In the photo, a Woodbury firetruck is ready with a skeleton behind the wheel as its once-a-year volunteer driver.
