Brandon Dumas’s first official act as the new chaplain of the Woodbury Volunteer Fire Dept was offering the invocation at the Nine-Eleven Memorial commemoration today in Hollow Park. The Rev Dumas, an ordained minister and Woodbury resident, is a pastor at the Faith Church, New Milford. He and his wife Judy with their three children moved to the area a year ago. Dumas is a graduate of Texas A&M. ”We warmly welcome him,” said Fire Chief Janet B. Morgan. “He just joined, and it’s a genuine asset to have an active chaplain in the department. He can provide comfort, counseling, and spiritual support on a non-denominational basis to any member.”

The September 11 ceremony, known simply as 9/11, honors the nearly 3000 dead, including 343 New York City firefighters, from 22 years ago when al-Qaeda suicide terrorists hijacked four aircraft and flew three of them into major American buildings. The fourth crashed in a field.
