The Woodbury Fire Department’s engine 4 was the most popular attraction at the town’s Mitchell Elementary School careers day June 3rd. Children received a briefing, climbed through the cab, and hauled 100 feet of inch-and-three-quarter diameter hose called a trash line from the front of the truck to an imaginary blaze. Guiding the kids were Deputy Fire Chief Dave Lampart, Fire Lt Jason Hatstat, and Firefighters Mel Brenner, Mitch Chester, and Matt Daly Lehman. As the morning ended, a callout took precedence. Firefighters donned gear and rolled out to a traffic crash on Middle Road Turnpike.
