Tree Planted in Memory Past Deputy Chief, Frank Morgan
WOODBURY – Firefighters honored the memory of Frank Morgan, a longtime volunteer firefighter, with a flowering dogwood planted in front of the Woodbury Volunteer Fire Dept on the weekend of May 11-12, 2024. His widow, Fire Chief Janet B. Morgan, listens as arborist and former Chief Bud Neal (photo) explains the dogwood variety with its late-blooming scarlet blossoms. Morgan, who served as a department Deputy Chief passed away last summer and the tree-planting event was timed for the weekend burial of his mother, Mildred L. Morgan, also of Woodbury, who died this winter. “His family was touched and honored at the love, honor and respect you have given him since his passing,” Chief Morgan wrote in a department message on Monday. “All of you and the FD were part of his bigger family since the 70’s and your support has been unmeasurable,” she said.
