Due the impending weather and the safety of those that wish to attend, the WVFD 43rd Annual Pancake Breakfast has been cancelled. Please join us for our Mother’s Day Pancake Breakfast, Sunday, May 11th.
We took the decision Thursday in view of the weather forecast for a heavy showfall on Sunday,” said Fire Chief Janet B. Morgan. “The fire captains and I don’t want visitors sliding around on slippery roads and we do want to be ready for any bad-weather call-outs.” She added, “This was a safety decision, and the weather in May should be nice.”
The Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department will host its 43rd annual Valentines Pancake Breakfast on Feb 16th at department headquarters, 25 Quassuk Rd. “We welcome all our neighbors to a genuinely happy event,” says Fire Lt. Joe Corey, one of the organizers, adding, “We cook and serve so bring your sweetie, bring your family.”
The traditional Sunday event runs from 7am to 11am with firefighters and their own families producing piles of hot pancakes either plain or with a choice of berries plus bacon, coffee, tea, and juice. Price is $8 for adults and $6 for seniors or children. Interested diners can also ask a firefighter for a short tour of the engines and gear in the truck bay.
