Woodbury Firefighters interrupted an elementary school fire safety demonstration Thursday October 8th with a real-life callout to extinguish a farm tractor blaze (photo). About 150 pupils and teachers watched in awe at the Mitchell Elementary School as firefighters suddenly geared up and responded to the midday callout for the fire at 216 Middle Road Tpke. Firemen were telling children about fire prevention and showing a pumper truck wre equipment when the alarm came in.   Two firefighters stayed at the school to complete the talk to children: Amy Clark, the town’s emergency coordinator and Don Harris, the department’s chief engineer. They received a handwritten thank-you signed by the youngsters.  As for the tractor fire, the owner surveyed the extinguished wreckage and said with straight-faced humor, “With time, we’ll have that back up and running.”
