“All the Kings Horses….”

Woodbury Volunteer Firefighters turned out on a sunny Saturday morning August 29th to train with newly purchased strut supports for stabilizing an overturned vehicle in a drill on emergency call-outs. The 30 firefighters took turns  bracing  a donated Chevrolet Monte Carlo and a BMW X5. Firefighters then used brandnew lithium-battery powered extrication equipment to cut through the vehicles quickly as part of the rescue drill. In the photo Firefighter Matt Gereg, a rural real estate investor, uses the new Jaws of Life device to cut apart the BMW while Andy Heavens, a car salesman, watches. “All the kings’ horses and all the kings’ men,” was the wry comment of one firefighter, “couldn’t put the cars together again.”
