Firefighters honored the memory of Frank Morgan, a longtime volunteer firefighter, with a flowering dogwood planted in front of the Woodbury Volunteer Fire Dept on the weekend of May 11-12, 2024.

Woodbury Firefighters set the weekend of May 11th and 12th for the annual childrens fishing event on Saturday and the Mothers Day annual pancake breakfast on Sunday.

About 20 firefighters participated with Woodbury’s Engine 4 and Middlebury’s Ladder Truck 1 in the exercise.

WOODBURY – Woodbury Volunteer Firefighters quickly extinguished a housefire at 168 Railtree Hill Road on Saturday afternoon April 6th. Nearly a dozen firefighters responded with

“It’s called ‘Putting the wet on the red,” said Fire Chief Janet B. Morgan of the Woodbury Volunteer Fire Dept. during a drill on pump operations Saturday March 23rd.

Every year, each firefighter that wears an SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) is required to have an annual fit test. This is to ensure that their face shape or the size of their mask has not changed.

It was the first time both fire companies that make up the Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department teamed up to host the event as one group.

Last night they spent the better part of 2 hours refreshing/inspecting/practicing with all the equipment “cold water” related.
